Oral HIV test
Scientists from McGill University, Quebec, Canada, compared the five studies around the world. They found, through the gum test in populations at high risk of HIV has a 99 percent accuracy, and HIV in populations with a low 97 percent.
Device called OraQuick HIV 1/2 does not use saliva to check the HIV virus, but absorb antibodies directly from blood vessels in the mucous membranes of the mouth. A person was diagnosed with HIV when HIV antibodies are called HICTes detected from the cheek and gum tissue during the test 20 minutes.
As quoted from the Daily Mail, study leader, Dr. Nitika Pant Pai, from McGill University, said, “The test could be a step in the prevention, treatment, and treatment strategies (HIV).”
He continued, “Although previous studies showed that the test fluid OraQuick HIV 1/2 based is very promising, we will test the chances at a global level first.”
The study, published in the journal Lancet Disease Infectous latest, it will be major implications for countries that want to adopt a strategy of independent testing for HIV.

The UN agency dealing with AIDS (UNAIDS) estimates that globally, 90 percent of men have no access to basic health services.
“Oral HIV test can be a powerful tool for high-risk populations, but these tests must be accompanied by treatment to achieve good health outcomes,” study author Dr. Rosanna Peeling, from the London School of Hygiene & Topical Medicine.
