Laura Knobel, MD, a board member of the American Academy of Family Physicians says, if you are prone to chapped lips and canker sores that can last a few days to a week, it’s worth trying the tips when canker sores, as quoted from Woman’s Day.
Tips when mouth sores:
- Always use lipbalm with an SPF of at least 15. Exposure to UV light even in the rainy season can enable growth and development of viruses.
- When the lips feel dry and you start to feel pain, apply a moisturizing cream to minimize pain. Apply a cream containing natural oils or honey with cotton, not your fingers. Rubbing with the fingers will spread the virus from hand to mouth.
- Drink plenty of water and if necessary supplement to help the body eradicate the virus.
- Change your teeth brush with new ones after recovery so that the virus was left on the toothbrush can not attack again.
- If you still feel ill, see your doctor to get pain medicine.
