Unfortunately, the distribution of eye doctors in Indonesia is far from equitable. The lack of facilities required to conduct an obstacle to the doctor on duty in the area.
“No reason eye doctor do not want to go into the area, only ophthalmologists need equipment and a good overhaul. And tools necessary to check the eyes, still inadequate, is what causes many doctors prefer to live or practice in the big cities,” explains Prof. Dr. Nila F Moeloek, dr.SpM (K), as quoted from okezone.com.
In order to help people, especially those in the region and improve eye health equally, the doctors and the eyes converge and find donors to organize treatment for people who are in the corners.
“While doing social activities, we needed a place, such as a hospital in the village or district certainly sterile, and experts are trained to perform the examination. We usually do one day care, where the patient comes to the social event, then the examination or treatment. Thus, the patient can go home, do not need hospitalization,” concludes Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia.
